Several films and series have been made based on Satyajit Ray’s Feluda. Even his creation Professor Sanku was also made into a film. But what about his other stories? Now, a new Bengali film based on Ray’s story will be released on May 5 on the big screen. The film's name is Master Anshuman.

The special screening of the film was held on April 25 at Film Service Studio in Tollygunge. Sandip Ray, Abhijit Guha, Atanu Ghosh, and Anik Dutta were present.

Young actor Samontak Dyuti Maitra plays Master Anshuman. Som Chattopadhyay will be seen as Krishnan. Rajatava Dutta, Supriya Dutta, and others will be in other important roles.

After the special screening, Sandip Ray told Anandabazar, “Long back, Sagnik had told me that he wanted to make a film on the story. My father's birthday is May 2. The film will be released just after that. This makes me happy.” Atanu Ghosh said, “Very few films are being made for children nowadays. But this film will be released just before the summer vacation. I hope both the young and the old will love the film.”

However, this is not the first time Sagnik worked on Satyajit Ray's creation. He made the documentary Feluda: 50 Years of Ray's Detective in 2019, on the occasion of Feluda’s golden jubilee. He bagged the National Award for the documentary. The director said that he made the film during the pandemic.
