Salman Khan confirms Atlee project delay, reveals rustic action film with Sanjay Dutt
Salman Khan confirmed a delayed high-budget action film with Atlee and announced a new project with Sanjay Dutt. He hinted at a future Sooraj Barjatya collaboration and promoted Sikandar for Eid.

Preparations for Salman Khan's upcoming release Sikandar are underway. In this weekend's release of the AR Murugadoss film, the superstar has once again set the date on Eid. The 59-year-old actor met with members of the media in a Mumbai hotel on Wednesday before the film's release. During the meeting, he discussed a possible collaboration with Atlee and made an unexpected announcement.
Atlee collaboration rumours
Reports suggested that Atlee, who made his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan was working with Salman. Despite initial rumours to the contrary, the film allegedly faced delays. As Salman himself said during their conversation, "He has written a very big budget action film." The actor provided confirmation of the truth. The film's budget is causing delays in the filming of the Atlee project. Which one, Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan, will star in it? Salman has no idea.
Salman confirms another big action film after Sikandar
During his discussion about starring in Sikandar as an action hero in his late 50s, Salman disclosed that he is doing another big action film after the Eid release. The stakes are much higher there and that's some homegrown style.
In response to a question seeking additional details about the project, the superstar revealed that he is collaborating with his elder brother in the industry, Sanjay Dutt. Additionally, Salman mentioned that the film's director and producer have not been announced as yet.
Future collaboration with Sooraj Barjatya still on hold
He neither confirmed nor denied rumours that he was collaborating with Sooraj Barjatya on a film while discussing his future ventures. Salman said the collaboration will happen after the filmmaker completes his current project. Barjatya is now preparing for the 2026 release of a film that will feature Ayushmann Khurrana.
Salman Khan recommends Eid releases
Salman advises watching Sikandar or other new films this week. The new films Sikandar L2: Empuraan by Mohanlal, and Jaat by Sunny Deol would be excellent to watch with generous Eid incentives. The superstar hopes all three of these major stars' upcoming projects do well.
Sikandar has Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi among its main stars. The film will release on March 30, 2025, right in time for Eid.
