On December 24, Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s third film as hero, Rider, will introduce two new heroines to Kannada cinema – Kashmira and Sampada Hulivana. While the former is the leading lady, Sampada also plays a pivotal role in the film.

According to reports, the final year graduation student from Bengaluru plays a character who fancies Nikhil, after being saved by him in a particular situation. But he pines for his childhood sweetheart. The debutant has been quoted as saying that debuting with Rider is a big deal and that she could not have hoped for a better launch vehicle because she got the opportunity to work with a fantastic team, including director Vijay Kumar Konda, DOP Shreesha Kudavalli and music director Arjun Janya, apart from lead actor, Nikhil, of course.

The team, says Sampada, helped her prepare for the role by giving her details about her scenes and lines a day in advance. Despite her best efforts, the young actress admits that she didn’t always get her takes right at first go, but that both director Vijay and actor Nikhil were more than supportive and kept egging her on to do her best. Both, she added, also gave her tips and tricks that helped her along the way.

While Sampada is set to get her Kannada film debut this week, she is now also gearing up for a launch in Telugu cinema. The actress, we hear, is currently shooting for the Telugu film Mass Maharaju, which also stars Sandeep Madhav and Raj Tarun. Sampada has apparently been signed up for a couple of other Telugu films too, but these have not been officially announced yet.

Rider is a sports-based action entertainer that will open in movie halls across Karnataka on December 24.
