All eyes have been on Sanya Malhotra ever since she delivered the best Hindi OTT project of 2025, Mrs. The latest buzz is that she has signed a romantic thriller, which would also be an OTT release. The actress will feature in the movie opposite Aditya Rawal. Here’s everything you need to know…

Has Sanya Malhotra signed romantic-thriller?

Sanya Malhotra, who grabbed headlines for Mrs. in 2025, has signed a romantic thriller opposite Aditya Rawal, a report on Variety India states. The movie, which is tentatively titled Sundar Poonam at this point, is scheduled to be a direct-to-OTT release for Prime Video. Inspired by true events, the movie is likely to be helmed by Maalik director Pulkit.

Sundar Poonam will be shot across Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi and Mumbai. It would go on floors in mid-April. While the movie marks Sanya and Aditya’s first film together, they have already worked with the makers previously. Sanya had filmed Shakuntala Devi with them, while Aditya featured in Daldal and the recently released Anil Kapoor-led film, Subedaar.

Sanya Malhotra’s other projects

Apart from Sundar Poonam, Sanya Malhotra also has Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, featuring Varun Dhawan in the lead role. The movie marks her union with the actor after Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. The David Dhawan directorial also features Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur as the female leads.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is scheduled for theatrical release on June 12, 2026 and will be clashing with Imtiaz Ali-Diljit Dosanjh’s Main Vaapas Aaunga at the Box Office. Meanwhile, Sanya is also a part of Anurag Kashyap’s Bandar. The movie is also expected to release in theatres later in 2026.
