Zee5 has just announced the release date for their upcoming Punjabi film, Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya. Starring Sargun Mehta and Gurnam Bhullar in the lead roles, the movie will have its world digital premiere on Zee5, which means it will launch exclusively on the streaming platform. This film is Sargun and Gurnam’s second collaboration since Surkhi Bindi (also available on Zee5).

Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya will start streaming on Zee5 from September 23. The movie released in theatres in July and is now heading for its OTT release.

For the uninitiated, Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya is a Punjabi folk song that tells the tale of love. Here, Sargun’s Roopi and Gurnam’s Raja hope to get married someday. The twist (as expected) is that Roopi might be tying the knot with someone else. Raja tries to get married to a girl from Roopi’s village out of spite. This causes chaos and a lot of hilarious situations.

Spilling her favourite part of the film, Sargun says, “This film starts with romance but very soon leads to revenge which is the most fun part about this film.” Gurnam adds, “Love stories usually end with a happy ending but in this one, it starts with romance and ends with an attempt to seek revenge from an ex-lover.”

The rom-com is written by Amberdeep Singh and helmed by Ksshitij Chaudhary. Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Narula and Gurjit Singh have bankrolled the movie.

The film also stars Jass Bajwa, Jasmin Bajwa, Shivika Diwan, Hardip Gill and Mintu Kapa in pivotal roles. The movie is another attempt on behalf of Zee5 to promote Punjabi cinema on their platform. So if you missed watching this one in theatres, September 23 it is!
