Tamil star Sathyaraj is gearing up for his return to Malayalam cinema after a gap of eight years. The Baahubali actor has been roped in for Tovino Thomas’ upcoming big budget fantasy period film titled Ajayante Randam Moshanam, which also stars Telugu actress Krithi Shetty, Tamil star Aishwarya Rajesh and National Award-winner Surabhi Lakshmi.

The movie, which went on floors last year, is helmed by debutant Jithin Lal and is scripted by Sujith Nambiar with Deepu Pradeep providing the additional screenplay. Ajayante Randam Moshanam, which will have portions set in the 1900s, 1950s and 1990s, will have Tovino essaying a triple role for the first time in his career. He essays the characters of Maniyan, Kunjikelu and Ajayan in the film, which has Dhipu Ninan Thomas as its composer.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay recently, the actor had revealed that he had completed the toughest portions for the movie in its previous schedule in December. The team is currently shooting in Cheruvathur in Kasaragod, and Sathyaraj, who has reportedly been roped in as a villain in one of the settings, is set to join the team in a few days.

Jithin, who had spent almost six years with the film’s script, said that the movie will be an “adventure entertainer” and will also have multiple genres within it. The team has been shooting with the Alexa Super 25 camera, which facilitates low-light cinematography as well as slow-motion scenes in the movie, which will also have a 3D version. Jomon T John is cranking the camera for the film, which will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

Apart from the lead actors, the movie also has Harish Uthaman, Hareesh Peradi, Rohini, Jagadeesh and Kannada actor Pramod Shetty as part of the cast. Meanwhile, Tovino’s next release will be Aashiq Abu’s period film Neelavelicham, which is set in the 1960s and also has Roshan Mathew and Rima Kallingal as part of the cast.
