Second Case of Seetharam trailer: Two murders in a week and a psycho killer on the loose

Second Case of Seetharam is the sequel of the Vijay Raghavendra led Seetharam Benoy Case No. 18. The film will be in theatres on February 20, 2026, presented by Pavan Wadeyar.

Vijay Raghavendra’s milestone 50th film was a crime thriller called Seetharam Benoy Case No 18, by then debutant director Devi Prasad Shetty. The film, following SI Seetharam’s (Vijay Raghavendra) first case following his transfer to the Anegadde station – a string of robberies that turned out to be far more sinister than just theft. Vijay and Devi Prasad have reunited for their third film together, which brings the character of Seetharam back. Called Second Case of Seetharam, it follows the police officer in the aftermath of the first film.

This time around, he’s thrown into the deep end of a double murder case, with a psycho killer on the loose. There’s also a young romance at the centre of the tale that’s pivotal to the investigation. Can Seetharam figure out what’s going on – not the story that’s being presented to him, but the real one - and why, before more lives are lost? This is what the film is about, as per the trailer that’s dropped ahead of the February 20th theatrical release. The film is being presented by filmmaker Pavan Wadeyar in theatres.

Interestingly, Vijay has a double dose of mystery thrillers awaiting audiences on February 20. In theatres he has Second Case of Seetharam and on OTT, the new Kannada web series Raakshasa, both of which revolve around homicide investigations. “Even though we did Case of Kondana as our second collaboration, we always knew that there was scope to expand the Seetharam universe. And then Devi sir came up with a good script, which seemed like a natural progression for the character,” Vijay said at the trailer launch.

Second Case of Seetharam also stars Gopalkrishna Deshpande and Usha Bhandary in pivotal roles, with music by Navaneeth Sham and cinematography by Hemanth Acharya. The film, shot in sync sound, has a run-time of 2 hours and has been censored U/A, with minor cuts and mutes.
