Shah Rukh Khan - who is basking in the success of Pathaan that made history by becoming the highest grossing Hindi film ever, with a worldwide collection of over ₹1,000 crore - has congratulated the teams behind Oscar 2023 winners RRR and The Elephant Whisperers. The superstar took to Twitter to express how happy he is about India’s historic achievements at the 95th Academy Awards.

“Big hug to @guneetm & @EarthSpectrum for Elephant Whisperers. And @mmkeeravaani #ChandraBose ji @ssrajamouli @AlwaysRamCharan @tarak9999 thank u for showing us all, the way to do it. Both Oscars truly inspirational!!” SRK tweeted.

Earlier when Naatu Naatu had won a Golden Globe Award and Ram Charan had appreciated the trailer of Pathaan ‘King Khan’ had tweeted saying, “Thank u so much my Mega Power Star @alwaysramcharan. When ur RRR team brings Oscar to India, please let me touch it!! (Mee RRR team Oscar ni intiki tecchinappudu okkasaari nannu daanini touch cheyyanivvandi! ) Love you.” To this, Charan had replied saying, “Of course @iamsrk Sir! The award belongs to Indian Cinema”.

Naatu Naatu - from SS Rajamouli-directed action drama film RRR starring NT Rama Rao Jr, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran, among other actors - took the world by storm after bagging the ‘Best Original Song’ award at Oscars 2023. Meanwhile, Kartiki Gonsalves-directed movie The Elephant Whisperers won the ‘Best Documentary Short Film’ award.

Produced by Guneet Monga, Kartiki, Douglas Blush and Achin Jain, The Elephant Whisperers traces the journey of Bomman and Bellie, a village couple who belong to Tamil Nadu’s Kattunayakan community. They have devoted their lives to caring for an orphaned baby elephant, named Raghu. Their story reiterates the fact that human-wildlife coexistence is better than conflict. It's also the first Indian production to win an Oscar.

Said to be the most expensive Indian film to date, RRR that revolves around the fictional versions of two revolutionaries - Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem - their friendship and fight against the British Raj. It was made on a budget of ₹550 crore.
