Cocktail 2 (2026), directed by Homi Adajania and written by Luv Ranjan, is a modern romance starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna. Rumoured to explore unconventional relationships, including a possible homosexual angle between the female leads, the plot centres on a complex love triangle in a contemporary setting.
This film reportedly focuses on contemporary relationships, heartbreak, and self-discovery, similar to the 2012 original, Cocktail (Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty), but presented in a bolder, more modern form. Buzz is circulating that Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna could share a new romantic angle, with Shahid Kapoor adding a surprising twist to the love triangle. Cocktail 2 is positioned as a "spiritual successor" rather than a direct sequel, aiming to modernise the themes of friendship and love that made the 2012 original a cult favourite.
