During the Prime Video Slate 2026, Farzi Season 2 was announced. Speaking about the serirs, Shahid said that he had been waiting to start Season 2 for the past two years and was very excited that it was finally happening. He also said that he is eagerly waiting to see how the story unfolds, noting that shooting has already begun and calling Farzi his favorite show, describing the character as one of his favorite characters.
Shahid added, “And whatever they have taken me through sounds like a level up from the first season, but it also feels very much like a natural progression of the story."
Production has begun on Farzi Season 2, promising a major “level up” in the cat-and-mouse battle between Shahid Kapoor’s Sunny and Vijay Sethupathi’s Michael. The new season reveals a dark and vengeful side of Sunny, pushing her into even greater danger. Meanwhile, Michael continues to work alone, determined to destroy the empire of fraud once and for all.
The story tracks Sunny (Shahid Kapoor) as he descends further into the criminal underworld. More ruthless than before, he is now fueled by ego, greed, and a burning desire for revenge, leaving behind his earlier survival instincts. Michael (Vijay Sethupathi) continues to hunt Sunny. Despite being cut off from the formal system, he refused to stop and continued to act as a strong force.
Both characters are caught in a "risky roller-coaster ride" where they are chasing a new, mysterious enemy (a "hidden force") capable of destroying India's economic system. The new season will pick up on the aftermath of the first season's massive coin heist, focusing on the chaos created and the personal cost of their rivalry.
