Shailesh Lodha, who played the lead role of Taarak Mehta in one of the longest running TV shows, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has now moved court for his unpaid dues. The actor has declared that he did not receive his dues for over a year and wants them to be cleared now. He has filed a complaint against the maker, Asit Kumarr Modi.

The differences between Shailesh and Asit are not new. It began when Shailesh quit the show and the makers kept searching for his replacement. Now, Shailesh has taken the legal route claiming his dues are pending with the production house.

A report on Hindustan Times claims that Shailesh filed a complaint against producer Asit with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in March 2023. The actor reportedly waited for over six months for his dues to be cleared and since he did not receive any update on that, he moved the court for further action.

The actor has filed a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9. His hearing is scheduled for May this year. When contacted, he refused to comment on the matter since it is a court case.

Asit did not utter a word either but project head Sohil Ramani asked Shailesh to complete the legal formalities to get his dues. He requested the actor to sign the paperwork and collect his renumeration for working on the show. “We have never denied or refused to give his payment. In every company when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released,” he said.

Shailesh quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in April 2022. The actor was associated with the show as the central figure since the beginning. He was later replaced by Sachin Shroff.
