Guru Randhawa, who is widely known for his Punjabi pop songs in Bollywood, returned to acting with Shaunki Sardar after the movie Shahkot in 2024. The latest Punjabi action drama is now streaming on Chaupal (also accessible via OTTplay Premium) from December 18. Apart from Randhawa, the latest action flick also stars Babbu Maan, Guggu Gill and Nimrrit Kaur Ahluwalia in the lead roles. Shaunki Sardar, which was released in theatres in May, also features Hashneen Chauhan, Sunita Dhir and Sukhdev Barnala in supporting roles.

What is the plot of Shaunki Sardar?

Directed by Dheeraj Kedarnath Rattan, the Punjabi action drama follows three men – Shamsher, Karan and Jagir – who share a deep bond with a passion for adventure. Jagir acts as a mentor to Karan and Shamsher, shaping them into fearless figures with a strong sense of confidence. Things drastically change in their lives when Jagir gets imprisoned, and Karan and Shamsher become successful in their respective lives.

When Jagir is released, he witnesses Karan and Shamsher's different lifestyles, making him a little upset. The trio's reunion forces them to confront hidden pasts and conflicts. Now, the three men must navigate these emotional wounds to forge a new shared identity, realising that loyalty often comes at a high cost.

Nimrrit Kaur Ahluwalia on working with Guru Randhawa in Shaunki Sardar

For the unversed, Nimrrit Kaur Ahluwalia made her acting debut with Shaunki Sardar, opposite Guru Randhawa. The actress talked about her big break with OTTplay back in September and shared that Guru is very humble, grounded and extremely warm and made sure that she feels welcomed.

While talking about her debut, Nimrrit shared that aspiring actors have this one common dream to just see themselves on the big screen, and to fulfil her dream with Shaunki Sardar is something she will never forget.
