Following the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 Kartik Aaryan is currently hard at work on his upcoming film, Shehzada. The 20-day shoot for Rohit Dhawan's film, an adaptation of Allu Arjun's Telugu smash Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), concluded last week at Film City.

The Mid Day reported that, according to sources, production designer Suresh Selvarajan built a sound and dust-proof house set for the project, reportedly costing the filmmakers a cool Rs 5 crore. Producers Allu Aravind and Dhawan intended to boost the ante with the Hindi remake, since the Telugu original was partially shot at an opulent home set.

The majority of the action takes place in the house, as Aaryan's character infiltrates the home of a wealthy businessman and charms his family while keeping the fact that he is the man's biological son a secret from him. The schedule began in the first week of June, according to a source from the unit. Rohit had prepared tense and dramatic scenarios to be filmed at the estate for this leg.

The production design crew spent two months creating an opulent home on the site. The setup needed to be more elaborate than what was displayed in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo according to the producers. The set boasts a white façade and warm-toned interiors, with more than 50 rooms, large gardens, and chandeliers.

Selvarajan, who designed stunning sets for the movies Om Shanti Om (2007), Petta (2019), and the upcoming Godfather found satisfaction in having unlimited creative control when designing the palace.

He told the tabloid that the set had been taken down because the shoot was over. The producers informed him they felt awful about tearing down the elaborate set after seeing it since two more movies could have been filmed there. Allu Aravind indicated a wish to create a comparable setup in his southern studio. Each frame needed to reflect the wealth.

The setup, according to Selvarajan, cost about five crore rupees. Selvarajan executes the director's intent. He attempted to comprehend how he could improve his vision after hearing the script. To help him visualise the mansion, Rohit showed him the Telugu movie. Then the director inquired as to how they might enhance its beauty for the Bollywood offering. They created a number of models and miniatures before settling on one.

Shehzada features Kriti Sanon as the female lead.
