Shivanna in Jailer?

Shiva Rajkumar fans are over the moon and the reason is his most recent announcement. The 60-year-old star is set to reprise one of his most loved characters on screen, of Bhairathi Ranagal from the 2017 film Mufti, and with the upcoming film of the same name promising to explore the character in depth, Shivanna's fans are ecstatic. Alongside, turns out there is another facet to Bhairathi Ranagal which concerns a certain Mr. Rajinikanth and his upcoming mega movie Jailer.

Yes, although this stays unconfirmed, fans are convinced that Shiva Rajkumar's cameo in Jailer will be as Bhairathi Ranagal. "It may have a link, and e may see Mufti's #BhairathiRanagal character reference in Nelson's #Rajinikanth sir #Jailer," said an industry tracker to fuel the speculation that, quite indeed, the Vedha actor will be seen playing the iconic character from Mufti in the upcoming Tamil action movie headlined by superstar Rajinikanth himself.

Another report from a popular media outlet confirms this rumour and quotes Shivanna as saying that writer-director Nelson "remembered him when he was writing that character in Jailer", adding that being a part of a Rajinikanth film is "worth everything" to him.

Nelson's Jailer boasts a vibrant ensemble cast that also comprises Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil, Jackie Shroff, and others, with Mohanlal, too, slated to play a cameo role in the film.

As far as Bhairathi Ranagal is concerned, Shiva Rajkumar stated in a recent interview that the film will function both as a prequel and a sequel to the 2017 film, Mufti. The first half of the upcoming film is likely to explore the founding of the titular character whereas the rest of the film, reportedly, will take off from where Mufti ended.

Mufti the 2017 film, also starred Sriimurali, Vasishta N. Simha, Shanvi Srivastava, Madhu Guruswamy, and others but isn't clear, yet, whether any of these actors will be part of Bhairathi Ranagal, which will be directed by Narthan. The filmmaker, who made his debut with Mufti, has been in the news for quite some time as the potential director Rocking Star Yash's next (Yash 19) but with Bhairathi Ranagal now back on the cards, fans believe that the Yash project is as good as shelved.
