Shivarajkumar in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film – Empuraan, Tyson or a new project, after all?
Prithviraj Sukumaran will do a film with Shivarajkumar, but it may not be what's widely speculated

When Prithviraj Sukumaran was in Bengaluru recently for the Bengaluru leg of the Aadujeevitham promotions, three things that he did say that were not connected to his new film that will be in theatres on March 28, were that his next directorial after L2: Empuraan would be Tyson, his first directorial for Hombale Films; that he is definitely collaborating with Shivarajkumar for a film and that he has an idea for another directorial.

Now, the fact that he’s going to be working with Shivarajkumar has excited fans and how with speculation rife that the Century Star will probably be seen in a pivotal role in Empuraan, which has Mohanlal in the lead. Interestingly, though, Prithviraj never once mentioned the film that Shivarajkumar could be doing with him. Empuraan could be the best bet, since it is in production currently, and the Malayalam actor-director has said that what he has in mind for the Hattrick Hero is a role that the latter has agreed to in principal and that finer details are yet to be worked out.

But then, Shivarajkumar will likely be busy for the next month and a half as his wife Geetha is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and he will be by her side till the end of polls in Karnataka. He’s also got to finish up his films Bhairathi Ranagal and 45, with the former set for an Independence Day release. Earlier, when rumours came out about a possible collaboration between the duo, Empuraan or Tyson seemed to be the only two options.

But now, Prithviraj has teased the possibility of another directorial, an idea that he is looking at developing, and Shivarajkumar could be a part of that, after all. From what he said, it appears that Prithviraj’s association with Hombale Films will extend beyond his current commitments of Salaar Shouryaangaparvam and Tyson.

Shivarajkumar, meanwhile, is one of the busiest actors in Kannada cinema, with a long list of commitments ahead, including with filmmakers like Hemanth M Rao, Pavan Wadeyar, MG Srinivas, Dinaker Thoogudeepa, Rohit Padaki, Lohith M, Ravi Arasu, among many others.
