We previously reported that Daphne Schmon would helm the international feature picture The Eye, which would star Shruti Haasan. The Salaar actress praised the production team for their thoughtful gift of crackers, so she wouldn't miss Deepavali celebrations while she is currently filming in Athens and Corfu.

Shruti Haasan posted a photo of her bursting crackers on Instagram with the caption, “Wishing you and yours light and success! Tomorrow is the start of amazing things for all of us.”

She said, “On this wonderful day, I thought I was away from my family but found a delightful new film family in these amazing people, who took the time and effort to make Deepavali so memorable.”

Shruti expressed her gratitude and her vow to never take these wonderful moments for granted. “Magic and light can be found everywhere; all you need to do is keep your heart and mind open.”

The psychological thriller, which hails from Fingerprint Content, will feature actor Mark Rowley of The Last Kingdom fame opposite Haasan, reported entertainment news website Deadline.

Haasan was earlier featured in the American series Treadstone, which was set in the same universe as Matt Damon’s Bourne film series.

The Eye has a screenplay by Emily Carlton. The main character of the narrative is a young widow who returns to the island where her husband passed away to scatter his ashes. After discovering the potential cause of his death, she is tempted to make a horrible decision that might bring him back.

The cast includes Anna Savva, Linda Marlowe and Christos Stergioglou.

Shruti Haasan, will next be seen in filmmaker Prashanth Neel’s directorial Salaar, co-starring Prabhas, who turned 43 recently. Touted to be an out-and-out action entertainer, this one is said to be released in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi during Sankranti 2023.
