Shubho Bibaho: Was Sandipta Sen the first choice for the makers?

Sonamoni Saha and Honey Bafna’s Shubho Bibaho performed well in the TRP. However, it was Sandipta Sen, not Sonamoni Saha, who was the first choice of the makers. Jalsha planned to bring back the leads of its megahit serial Durga. But it did not happen.

Shubho Bibaho, which also streams on Disney+ Hotstar, tells the story of a divorced girl’s second marriage. Why did Sandipta turn down the offer? Sandipta confirmed the fact. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she said, “Yes, I got the offer a few months back. But I could not do it due to date problems. I was shooting Noshtoneer 2 at that time for Hoichoi.”

Sandipta was last seen on television in the serial Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni – Uttarparba which was almost two years back. Since then, she has been away from television. Will she do only films and OTTs? Sandipta said, “I am not picky. I want to work in all mediums. I will definitely do it if I get a good offer from television. I started with television and hence, there is no question of leaving it. I am waiting for the right offer.”

Sandipta will be seen in Noshtoneer season 2 which will be released at the end of this month on Hoichoi. The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan was the last film where she was seen. Right now she has no film offer, but talks are going on.

Sandipta was married to Soumya Mukherjee last year. She is enjoying a blissful married life. How much change did she have in her life? The actress said, “Not much that I feel. We share responsibilities. We are having a wonderful time at work and family.”
