Salman Khan's Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, is scheduled to release in theatres this Sunday

A few days before its theatrical release around Eid Salman Khan's Sikandar is finally cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). A major change, however, was suggested. This change was related to the usage of the word Home Minister throughout the movie. Sikandar's censor certificate and runtime were also revealed.

The word Home Minister censored from Sikandar

The word Home from Home Minister has been censored from Sikandar, according to a report on Bollywood Hungama. Not just that, political party hoarding visuals were also blurred out from the movie.

Sikandar has reportedly been certified U/A. The action and violence scenes from the movie remain uncensored.

Sikandar runtime

According to the censor certificate, Sikandar's runtime is 2 hours 30 minutes and 8 seconds. However, the final version of the movie might be 2 hours 15 minutes and 46 seconds long. We might end up seeing the edited version which is just a little over 2 hours.

About Sikandar

Sikandar, which marks Salman Khan's first collaboration with AR Murugadoss as well as Rashmika Mandanna, will be a Sunday release rather than the usual Friday release. This is keeping in mind that Eid falls on a Monday (March 31). The Sajid Nadiadwala-produced movie also stars Kajal Aggarwal in a pivotal role.

Why is Sikandar important for Salman Khan?

Sikandar could be Salman Khan’s first-ever solo blockbuster in the post-COVID era. Although his previous release Tiger 3 did cross the Rs. 200 crore mark at the Box Office, the film itself was made on a budget of Rs. 300 crore. Given that Sikandar is also a big-budget movie and a blockbuster that Khan needs, there’s a lot riding on this film. The new release strategy (releasing on a Sunday instead of Friday) is risky in that sense, but might be a game-changer too.
