Vasan Bala's style is not quite tried-and-true. Following the action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2018), the director is set to release Monica O My Darling a neo-noir criminal comedy. He has assembled a diverse cast for the Netflix movie, including Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte, Huma Qureshi, and Sikandar Kher. While giving very little away about the movie's narrative, the recently released teaser has increased the intrigue surrounding it.

Kher calls the movie a wholly engaging entertainment, showing that he clearly loved his first experience with the genre. The actor told Mid Day that the neo-noir crime comedy Monica O My Darling exhibits the stylish style of thrillers and comedies. All of Pulp Fiction (1994), Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998), The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), Catch Me If You Can (2002), and RocknRolla (2008) were noir crime comedies produced by Hollywood. These timeless works are incomparable. There are not many of them in Bollywood. The actor claims that this movie is sort of a homage to the masterpieces.

It's challenging to live in Bala's peculiar universe. Kher claims that part of his preparation was figuring out the characters' quirks and motives. The characters are all so complex that one cannot play his part to the best of his ability without fully comprehending the other roles. It was interesting for him to go under the skin of Vasan's characters because they are so complex and colourful. Because the narrative is so tightly intertwined, they read it several times.

In Monica O My Darling with some unusual allies and a cunning, evil scheme to commit the ideal murder, a young man played by Rajkummar Rao urgently attempts to make it big. The teaser was unveiled a few days back, and the release date of the film is yet to be announced.
