Priyadarshan reveals delay in Hera Pheri 3 filming

Hera Pheri 3 shoot has undergone various complications ever since the movie took off. Producer G P Vijayakumar had approached the Madras High Court claiming he holds the rights to the film over Firoz Nadiadwala. Vijaykumar’s production house Seven Arts International had given Firoz rights to remake the original film, the Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam original Ramji Rao Speaking – which was the 2000 release, Hera Pheri. The movie was directed by Priyadarshan, who stepped back for the sequel, Phir Hera Pheri. Vijayakumar has accused Nadiadwala of not only violating the contract with the second installment but also by transferring rights to Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films for the third installment.

Meanwhile, Bhushan Kumar claimed rights over the music of the film. “Certain people said they have the rights to the film, while others claimed rights to the music,” Priyadarshan clarified, while adding that Hera Pheri 3 will not go on floors this year because of the same reason. “Definitely not this year,” he said when questioned about the status of the film going on floors.

While addressing Paresh Rawal’s exit from Hera Pheri 3, Priyadarshan acknowledged the ever-changing dynamics within the industry and shared that he holds no animosity for his movie’s cast member. “I’ve also seen people fall out and then work together again. I don’t think there are permanent enemies in politics or cinema,” he said.
