A feel-good Tamil film, a Telugu action-comedy entertainer, a Malayalam cop drama and a Kannada series are among the various offerings in the digital space. While Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and Baby Girl are already out, Paathirathri and the Raakshasa series will be making their digital debut soon. Which are the south releases to watch

Lucky the Superstar

This Tamil film is skipping its theatrical release and premiering directly on JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) on February 20, 2026. A cute little puppy goes missing and from people to canines, everyone is looking for it. Named Lucky, the puppy also has a positive impact on all those it meets. GV Prakash Kumar and Anaswara Rajan play the lead roles in the film, which promises to be a fun watch.

Hot Spot 2 Much

Another Tamil film, but it is making its OTT debut after its theatrical run. Vignesh Karthick has written and directed the film, which seeks to tackle societal notions and taboos. A hyperlink narrative, the film follows a woman filmmaker who presents different stories. Priya Bhavani Shankar, MS Bhaskar, and Thambi Ramaiah are part of the movie, which is the sequel to the 2024 film Hot Spot.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu

A film that mixed professional and personal lives of an NSG officer to give an action-comedy entertainer. Prasad, has been separated from his wife and children, gets tasked with providing security to a Union Minister. The twist is the Minister is the father of his ex-wife. Chiranjeevi stars in the lead role, while Nayanthara turns up as his wife in the film which also features Venkatesh. Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu was a hit both in theatres and in digital space.

Paathirathri

Actress Navya Nair plays the role of SI Jancy in the film, which features actor Soubin Shahir in the role of a constable. Director Ratheena PT’s film follows the two cops as they set out for a patrolling duty one night even as an incident upends their lives. Though Paathirathri did not make waves at the box office, it is expected to find takers online.

Baby Girl

A thriller with an emotional core. A 3-day-old infant gets abducted from a hospital, and the blame falls on a hospital attendant. But amid the frantic search, we see there is more to the story. Nivin Pauly, Lijomol Jose and Sangeeth Prathap are also part of the film, helmed by director Arun Varma.

Raakshasa

In the Kannada series Raakshasa, police launch an investigation after dismembered body parts are found. Is there a crocodile attacking people? The seven-episode series follows SI Hanumappa as he sets out to find the truth. Vijay Raghavendra stars in the role of the cop in the series, directed by Suhan Prasad.
