Spider Noir: When, where to stream Nicolas Cage as an aging superhero in 1930s New York

Nicolas Cage leads Spider Noir

Spider Noir, a series based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir has set a streaming date. The Nicolas Cage led show, about an aging private investigator and superhero in 1930s New York, had been announced as an Amazon Prime Video presentation way back in 2024. Now, though, there’s a definite timeline as to when to expect the show to drop on OTT. Developed by Oren Uziel, Spider Noir will begin streaming from May 27, 2026.

What is Spider Noir about?

Spider Noir is a character from the multiverse, and has Nicolas Cage as Ben Riley, a down on his luck private investigator and ‘former’ superhero in 1930s New York. Ben had hung up the mantle of the city’s friendly neighbourhood ‘Spider’ following a personal tragedy – with no power comes no responsibility, you see - but then he returns again. Why, though? That’s what the first season of the show explores.

Cage had earlier voiced the trench-coat sporting animated character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This variant of Spider-Man was in black and white and had the wind following him wherever he went. Here, he beats up guys in a bar and then gets plastered.

Joining Cage on the cast are Lamorne Norris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson as main characters. Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Lewis Caldwell, Amy Aquino, and Andrew Robinson are listed on the recurring cast, while guest actors include the likes of Kai Caster and Richard Robichaux.

Harry Bradbeer (of Fleabag and Killing Eve fame) has directed the first two episodes of the show. Spider Noir is Cage’s first series outing. Whether or not all 8 will be available to binge or will be released as weekly drops will be confirmed shortly.
