Spirit update: Filming timeline revealed, Prabhas sets his dates for Sandeep Vanga's next

Post the success of Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is all set to kickstart his new film, featuring Prabhas in the lead role. The film is a cop drama and will be co-produced by Sandeep Vanga and Bhushan Kumar from T-Series. It was supposed to go on floors in June 2025, but as Prabhas injured his leg, his shoots were cancelled and Spirit did not take off on time.

Spirit to kick start its shoot soon

Now, things are back on track, as the film will be launched with a small puja ceremony in Hyderabad in the first week of September 2025. Once this is done, Sandeep will start filming with the other cast and crew.

A source close to the unit revealed that Prabhas will join the set from January 2026 and continue shooting for four months straight. Until then, Prabhas has requested Sandeep to give him time to wrap up his pending assignments, The Raja Saab and Fauji, which are being directed by Maruthi and Hanu Raghavapudi, respectively.

Prabhas will play a cop for the first time in his career, and there is huge hype for this film as Sandeep is riding high on the blockbuster success of Animal. Prabhas will undergo rigorous training and attain a new look for Spirit. He has wanted to work with Sandeep ever since Arjun Reddy released, and when he got the chance to collaborate with the Animal director, he grabbed it right away.

The film features Triptii Dimri of Animal fame as the female lead, along with several other big stars in key roles. Everybody is eager to know who will play the main villain. Some big names have been speculated in the past, but nothing has been confirmed yet. In the coming days, we will see what kind of announcement Sandeep Reddy Vanga makes. For now, Prabhas will join the sets in January 2026.
