#Single is Samajavaragamana fame Sree Vishnu's new film, which has taken a solid start at the box office. The day one numbers were decent, as the comedy caper made ₹4.2 crore gross. But the film shocked everyone, grossing ₹7 crore on day two. That means #Single saw almost double the collections on day two.

The word of mouth has helped the film big time, and on Sunday, the numbers are expected to grow further. The clean comedy has ensured a solid start, but the jump in occupancy to this extent was not at all expected and has surprised even the trade.

There are two main reasons for this. Firstly, the other release, Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Subham, a horror comedy, has failed to take off despite solid reviews. There is a lack of other big films currently in theaters. These two reasons have given #Single a free window at the box office. On the other hand, Jersey star Nani's HIT 3, now in its third week, is holding its ground but has not posed any real competition to #Single.

Thippara Meesam fame Sree Vishnu has ensured that his comedy and fun scenes are loved by the audience, and the same has happened with #Single. Vennela Kishore, of Sathi Gani Rendu Ekaralu fame, plays the second lead, and his scenes with Sree Vishnu are hilarious and one of the biggest assets of the film.
