Sri Chidambaram Garu is a low-budget Telugu romantic drama that hit the screens on February 6, 2026. Within a month of its theatrical release, the film locked its OTT premiere date. We at OTTplay had already revealed that ETV Win acquired the digital rights for a fancy price and would stream the film on February 26, 2026.

Initially, the movie was scheduled to premiere on February 19, 2026. However, due to last-minute changes in the deal, the release was postponed by a week. As per the latest update, Sri Chidambaram Garu is now available for streaming on ETV Win and here on OTTplay Premium.

The film features Vamsi Thummala, Sandhya Vasishta, Gopinath Sivakumar, and Arun Kumar in key roles. Directed by Vinay Ratnam, the movie is set in a rustic village backdrop and revolves around a mason who has a squint eye.

In order to hide his condition, he constantly wears glasses. He falls in love with a beautiful girl in his village, but when he proposes, she rejects him. The heartbroken protagonist believes his appearance is the reason for her refusal. Deeply upset, he takes a drastic decision, which forms the core conflict of the story and drives the emotional drama forward.

For those who enjoy rooted village dramas featuring fresh faces and honest storytelling, this film could be an interesting watch on OTT. Since there were no established stars in the cast, the movie managed to collect only ₹36 lakhs at the box office and was pulled out of theatres within four to five days due to poor occupancy.

The makers recently held a press interaction to officially announce the OTT release. Sailu Kampa, director of Raju Vets Rambai (currently streaming on OTTplay), praised the film and described it as a unique attempt that deserves appreciation.

Though it lacks big names, small films like Sri Chidambaram Garu often find a new lease of life on OTT platforms, where audiences are more open to diverse and heartfelt narratives. Now that it has premiered digitally, it remains to be seen how the film performs in the days to come.
