Vecna is seen planning to merge Hawkins with this new dimension to create a new world. He has kidnapped twelve children, including Holly Wheeler, to use as a vessel to amplify his psychic power.

Meanwhile, Will Byers discovers that he can siphon power from Vecna due to his shared connection. He uses the power to save Max and Holly. While Max escapes from his coma-induced mental prison and wakes up in the real world, Holly remains trapped in 'The Abyss'.
