The Bollywood star’s film was postponed yet again claiming delay in the VFX completion.

Vikrant Rona to release in July?

Fans of Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, who were eagerly looking forward to the box office clash between his upcoming fantasy action-drama Vikrant Rona and Ajay Devgn’s Thank God were a tad disappointed today. The comedy drama, which also stars Rakul Preet and Siddharth Malhotra was slated for an end of July release along with Vikrant Rona, but has now been pushed ahead as the film’s extensive VFX work is unlikely to get over in time.

While this is good news for team Vikrant Rona, Sudeep fans were looking forward to the clash, especially after the brief Twitter ‘war of words’ between him and Ajay over the former’s comments about Hindi not being the national language, which did not sit well with the latter. While the stars sorted their ‘issues’ in a series of tweet exchanges, mostly with Sudeep explaining the context under which he made said statement, his fans were less than pleased about the Hindi imposition stance of the Bollywood actor, who had even tweeted in Hindi.

The box office clash of their films was, therefore, seen as the proper battleground, with Sudeep’s fans hopeful of showing Ajay Devgn the former’s star power. That, however, is not to be, what with the John Abraham starrer Ek Villain 2 taking up the last week of July window for release instead. When the box office clash was averted, fans took to social media writing, “Actually it’s bad, clash idre olle attention irodu Given their twitter fight” and “They must have decided to postpone the release after seeing the craze surrounding the Gadang Rakkamma song release. They figured that it does not bode well for them to release along with Vikrant Rona”.

Vikrant Rona, produced by Shalini Artss and co-produced by Invenio Origin, is slated to release in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English on July 28 in 3D. The film stars Sudeep in the lead, along with Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok and Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles.
