The movie was partially inspired by the true story of Sumathi Valavu, which is based on an urban myth that is widespread in Trivandrum and is based on people's real experiences with an unsettling presence in a road's curve. Abhilash Pillai developed the story for this project, which was helmed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar.
