Arjun Ashokan's character opens the two-minute, twelve-second film by bragging about encountering the infamous ghost Sumathi while on one of his road trips. However, he is also depicted as a scaredy cat who is plagued by dreadful images of this ghost and the Sumathi Valavu road, which seems difficult to navigate at night. In the meantime, the locals in their town similarly characterise Arjun's character and his pals as carefree and unemployed young people. The film was supposed to open in theatres in May, but for some reason it was delayed. On August 1, it will now make its big-screen premiere with Meesha, starring Kathir and Hakkim Shajahan in lead roles. A week ago, the creators unveiled this most recent update in a brand-new poster.
The movie is partially based on the true story of Sumathi Valavu, which is based on a spooky local folktale, according to earlier sources. The horror comedy, directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar, was written by Abhilash Pillai. Malikappuram, which marked Vishnu's directorial debut, is now available for streaming on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium.
Important roles in Sumathi Valavu are played by Balu Varghese, Gokul Suresh, Saiju Kurup, Malavika Manoj, Shivada, Gopika, Niranj Maniyanpillai, Shyam Mohan, and Siddharth Bharathan. In supporting parts are Pani-fame Bobby Kurian, Nandu, and Shravan Mukesh. This Malayalam film is being produced by Waterman Films LLP and Sree Gokulam Movies in association with Murali Kunnumpurath and Gokulam Gopalan. Ranjin Raj is the composer of the film's soundtracks.
