Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari box office collection Day 1: Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic comedy film opened to a moderate collection on its first day with nearly Rs 9 crore earnings. The Hindi film faced tough competition from Rishab Shetty’s magnum opus Kantara Chapter 1 which opened massively with Rs 60 crore collection. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has been making hype because of its lighthearted rom-com beats and a star-studded ensemble cast of Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, and Sanya Malhotra. Despite stiff box office competition with the South’s awaited film Kantara: Chapter 1, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opened with a moderate collection. However, comparing it with Shashank’s Badrinath Ki Dulhania, the latest rom-com has had a slow start on the first day. According to Sacnilk, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari minted Rs 9.25 crore on Day 1. While Varun Dhawan and Khaitan’s 2019 film Badrinath Ki Dulhania garnered Rs 12.27 crore on its opening day.

As per the analysis by industry tracker Sacnilk, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari had an overall Hindi occupancy of 34.08% on October 2, i.e. its opening day. While the occupancy for morning shows was quite low, standing at 14.77%, the afternoon shows had a slight jump to 38.93%, followed by the highest occupancy in the evening shows with 43.65% occupancy. The night shows witnessed a decent occupancy with 38.95%.
