Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari box office collection day 2: Despite a star-cast of Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, and Sanya Malhotra, the Hindi rom-com fails to match its day 1 earnings.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari
This year's Dusshera brought two big movies to cinemas - the Bollywood romance tale Sunny Sankari Ki Tulsi Kumari, and another from the South industry, Kantara Chapter 1, both released on October 2. As the two much-awaited movies clashed at the box office, moviegoers had a hard time choosing what to watch. While the Hindi film has a star-studded cast with Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra in the leads, the Kannada film saw Rishab Shetty back in Kantara’s world after three years. But despite a star-cast, the Hindi rom-com film is struggling at the box office, while Kantara races ahead.

Although the Hindi romantic comedy drama recorded a moderate collection of Rs 9.25 crore, the film saw a major drop on day 2. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari only collected Rs 5.25 crore at the box office on its second day, as per Sacnilk. Hence, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari's total collection is Rs 14.50 crore within two days of its release. Now all eyes are on its first weekend performance.
According to Sacnilk, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari had an overall Hindi occupancy of 18.01% on October 3. Despite being a Hindi-language movie and also competing with Kantara Chapter 1, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari saw good occupancy in Bengaluru at 32.75%, Hyderabad at 32.00%, and Chennai at 43.33%, compared to Mumbai, which saw 21.50% occupancy, Delhi at 16.75%, and Pune at 18.25%.
Shashank Khaitan, who previously directed both Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2015) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), helmed Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari which was rumoured to be the third installment of the Dulhania film series. However, later the makers clarified that it's not.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari has romance, quirky comedy, family drama, heartbreaks, and everything that a Bollywood movie is expected to be. The film revolves around Sunny and Tulsi, who join hands to wreck the marriage of their exes - Vikram and Ananya. But the plot twist is that Vikram marries a different woman named Dimple (played by Prajakta Koli). This came as a delight to fans of the Netflix series Mismatched because the characters are played by Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli in the movie.
