Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari gets a U/A 13+ certificate. Censor cuts include muting the word 'guard' and reducing lip-locks by 60%.

With the official approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari—starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor—is ready for its global release in only two days. The film was censored six days before its launch and has been given a U/A 13+ certificate, which means parental guidance is suggested for viewers under the age of 13.

As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC's Examining Committee requested a brief list of revisions, and the filmmakers cooperated with them, leading to the certification. Two main content revisions were all that the board required, according to production insiders.
As a first point, the word "guard" was instructed to be muted wherever it appeared in the film. The clip is thought to be from a moment in which Sunny, played by Varun Dhawan, supposedly uses the term to hide a more insulting one. Secondly, the length of on-screen lip-lock visuals was significantly reduced by a margin of 60%.
The makers were also told to add a static warning against drinking, which is a typical requirement for films with such depictions, on top of the content modifications.
After these modifications were made, the certification was green-lit. Running exactly two hours, fifteen minutes, and forty-five seconds, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari clocks in at 135.45 minutes, according to the official censor certificate. This film's genre and the director's and star's prior work are consistent with its brief running length.
Shashank Khaitan directs this film, set for release on October 2, 2025. Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Abhinav Sharma are all part of the ensemble cast.
The romantic comedy is creating a lot of excitement before its release this festive season, and advance bookings have already started. Families may find the movie appropriate, as indicated by its U/A 13+ rating, but younger audiences should be wary of its mature themes.
