Varun Dhawan's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari's story is unveiled with the trailer and it is not new or impressive - here's everything you need to know

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari's trailer is here, and it has to hold on to Baahubali and Govinda references to get the point across. The film, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, rather has a twist in the story. It is a classic with Varun, Janhvi, Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf that barely leaves you impressed with its first look. See it here...

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is a twist in the story. Varun Dhawan's Sunny is in love with Sanya Malhotra's Ananya. Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor's Tulsi is in love with Rohit Saraf's Vikram. The story begins with their love story, which ends with them being exes. As fate has it, Vikram and Ananya are about to get married. That is when Sunny and Tulsi come up with a plan - to make their exes jealous. Of course, it falls apart since the two 'losers in love' actually fall in love and manage to leave their exes confused in the process. The concept is not new, and while Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari wishes to paint vibrant colours, there's really nothing new that the film promises so far.
Baahubali reference has been constant with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. From the teaser to trailer, it becomes clearer why the constant reference.
Given Varun Dhawan, there is Govinda reference, too. Here, we get to hear Pak Chik Pak Raja Babu. However, it comes in the form of a lame poetry.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is produced by Karan Johar. Although the film has Dulhania 3 vibes, the movie might just be able to keep up with the franchise. The void left behind with Alia Bhatt not being a part of the project is definitely felt in the trailer itself. The movie is scheduled for an October 2 release, and will clash with Kantara: Chapter 1.
