Veteran star Suresh Gopi is on a signing spree. The actor, who had taken a sabbatical from acting due to his career in politics, is once again active in cinema. While his latest movie Paappan is into its second week in theatres, the actor has several other exciting projects in the kitty with filmmakers such as Jayaraj, Rahul Ramachandran and Mathew Thomas coming up. But the film that his fans will be most excited about is the one with Shaji Kailas.

The Kaduva director, who had previously teamed up with Suresh Gopi for superhits such as Thalasthanam, Ekalavyan, Mafia and Commissioner, will once again reunite with the star after a gap of 10 years. Their last project together was The King and The Commissioner, which also had Mammootty in the lead. The upcoming movie is set to go on floors as soon as Shaji completes work on Kaapa, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran, Aparna Balamurali, Anna Ben and Asif Ali.

The veteran filmmaker has also signed a film titled Pink Police, which will be scripted by GR Indugopan and produced by Theatre of Dreams. The makers had previously announced that they are planning to cast Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vidya Balan or Nayanthara in the lead role in the movie, which is expected to go on floors by the end of this year. It’s unclear if the Suresh Gopi movie and Pink Police are the same film.

Suresh Gopi, meanwhile, also has a slew of interesting films lined up, including Highway 2 with Jayaraj, Ottakkomban with Mathew Thomas and a crime drama with debutant Rahul Ramachandran. He has also given the nod for a film starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and Anupama Parameswaran, which is based on a true incident. His next release will be Jibu Jacob’s Mei Hoom Moosa, which is set to hit theatres in September.
