Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi’s next venture has got a title. The movie, which is helmed by Ellam Sheriyakum and Vellimoonga director Jibu Jacob, has been titled Main Hoon Moosa and the team had kicked off the film’s shoot in Amritsar last month.

Touted to be a big budget entertainer, the film also has Poonam Bajwa, Harish Kanaran and a bunch of relative newcomers as part of its cast. The movie has Suresh Gopi playing the titular role of Moosa. The team had also shot a few portions of the film in Amritsar last month. Punjab and New Delhi will be the prime locations of Main Hoon Moosa, which will also have portions in Kerala.

Last month, the team had shot at the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh, with Suresh Gopi’s character Moosa being seen in a rustic, elder avatar, sporting shabby clothes as part of the movie. The makers on Wednesday had announced that the film will be made on a big budget, but didn’t divulge further details on the movie.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi is also gearing up for the release of Paappan, which had him teaming up with veteran filmmaker Joshiy after superhits such as Pathram, Lelam and Vazhunnor. The film, which also has Nyla Usha, Kaniha, Gokul Suresh and Neeta Pillai, has him playing a retired police officer who reopens a case after a slew of murders reminiscent of his previous investigation.

RJ Shaan, who had scripted the movie, had earlier told OTTplay in an interview that Suresh Gopi’s character Abraham Mathew Mathan was written keeping in mind the actor’s age. The film, apart from being a crime drama, is also a “deeply-woven human story with layers of existential crisis and how rights and wrongs are relative”, he said, adding that Neeta Pillai also plays a police officer and is the daughter of Suresh Gopi’s character in Paapan. The movie is expected to hit theatres by April end or May first week.
