As the controversy between Suresh Gopi’s Ottakomban and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kaduva seem to have settled after the latter’s theatrical release, all eyes are now on how the veteran superstar’s film pans out. Suresh Gopi’s recent statements, however, reveal that the movie is bigger than Kaduva – in terms of its casting as well as locations.

Speaking to the press in Kochi during the promotions of his upcoming movie Paappan, the superstar spilled the beans on the casting of its female protagonist. “Anushka Shetty has agreed right now. The character is the mother of five children. Sonakshi Sinha has also liked the role. But there are certain curbs and curtails that we have to overcome. We can’t change it from five to four children,” he said.

The actor, however, also revealed that the team is yet to decide on the dates for Ottakomban’s shoot. “We have to block the runway of an airport for its shoot,” he said. “It can’t be done through CGI. It’s a popular airport and I know that we won’t get permission to shoot there. So, the director has been going around countries to see if we can shoot at an airport that’s similar to the one we are looking for.”

The actor also explained that this is the second time he has allotted dates for the movie and has requested the team to not lose it. He said that it takes him a month to grow the beard for the look in Ottakkomban and that would mean will have to compromise on other projects to maintain that get-up. However, this time, he said he has a few films planned that he can do without shaving off the beard.

The two projects at hand are Jayaraj’s Highway 2 and another movie that has Parvathy Thiruvothu and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead. “It’s based on a case that is relevant and is currently awaiting the verdict of the High Court. What’s even more surprising is that the story was written before the incident happened,” said Suresh Gopi.
