Earlier this year, there were rumours that Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan will soon work with Tamil actor Suriya. According to recent sources, filming for the project will shortly begin.

Production on this eagerly awaited movie is reportedly set to start in Kerala on December 8. The works of the sets and hunting the locations are reportedly underway. Rumour has it that Naslen and Nazriya will also appear in the movie.

According to recent sources, Suriya will portray a police officer in the film, which is marketed as a full-on entertainer. A few Malayalam actors and crew members will also be involved in the production. The project, which is now called Suriya 47, was previously said to likely start later this year following the Venky Atluri film. However, the creators had not confirmed any updates about this forthcoming project.

Suriya's upcoming films in 2026

Suriya is ready to collaborate with Venky Atluri, who is well-known for Telugu box office successes like Lucky Baskhar and Tholi Prema. As previously mentioned, a pooja ceremony was held in Hyderabad. There will soon be formal details regarding the untitled movie. Mamitha Baiju, a Malayalam actress, will play the female lead in the movie. G V Prakash Kumar composed the soundtrack for the movie, and Lokah-fame Nimish Ravi oversaw the cinematography. It is anticipated that the project will be released around April or June of 2026.

Karuppu, directed by filmmaker-actor R J Balaji, is his other eagerly anticipated production. The supporting cast of this film includes Trisha Krishnan, Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy, and Yogi Babu. Although there haven't been any updates on this yet, it is anticipated to hit the big screen shortly.
