Suriya opts out of Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal? HERE's the truth
Vaadi Vaasal test shoot in Chennai earlier this year

Ever since Suriya walked out of director Bala's Vanangan, speculations are rife that the actor could have opted out of Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal as well. This is because there has been no update from the team after the test shoot was conducted. While Vetri Maaran is busy shooting for his much-hyped Viduthalai starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi, Suriya is working on director Siva's pan-India project, which is yet to get a title. The film has Bollywood star Disha Patani making her Tamil debut.

Vaadi Vaasal marks the maiden venture between Vetri Maaran and Suriya and as the title suggests, will revolve around the bull taming sport. The film is adapted from a novel penned by CS Chellappa. Suriya has also bought two bulls and we hear that he is prepping for the character. Suriya's look test for his character was done in Chennai. However, there has been an update for a while about the developments in the project. The film's producer Kalaipuli Thanu has quashed the rumours and says that the pre-production work of the film is on and dismissed the speculations as just rumours. The film will have music by GV Prakash Kumar.

Suriya walked out on his mentor Bala's Vanangaan earlier this month. Though there were rumours that the film has been shelved as creative differences had cropped up between Suriya and Bala, an official statement from Bala confirmed the news that Suriya is indeed out of the project. The director said that he had made some changes in the script and that he was apprehensive about the fact that it would suit Suriya. Bala and Suriya had come together after 18 long years and fans of the duo were eagerly looking forward to the film. Vanangaan has Krithi Shetty and Mamitha Baiju as the leading ladies and now Arun Vijay has come on board.
