If the buzz in the industry is to be believed, Suriya is likely to team up with Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel once again for a film. The director had revealed to a YouTube channel that he had narrated a one-liner about a film to Suriya during the shoot of Jai Bhim itself and that Suriya was convinced about it. We hear that the director is busy with the pre-production work of the film and the shoot is likely to begin in mid-2023. However, there has been no official announcement about the same.

In the meantime, Jai Bhim recently completed one year at the box office. Suriya had shared his excitement about the same and had written on his social media handle that playing lawyer Chandru was a highlight in his career. He wrote on his social media handle, "Happy to celebrate one year of #JaiBhim From script to execution this film kept getting stronger & stronger.. I thank my brother @tjgnan Gnanavel & Team for giving us this most meaningful film. Lawyer Chandru is a landmark role in my career! (sic)." The film's production house had shared a glimpse of the film on its social media handle, with the caption, "Celebrating the victory of Justice! #1YearOfJaiBhim! (sic)."

Jai Bhim delves into the police brutality and discrimination meted out against members of the marginalised community. The plot revolves around a couple from the Irular community and Sengeni's quest for justice with the help of Justice Chandru played by Suriya. The plot is inspired by a real-life case fought by Justice K Chandru in 1993. The star cast includes Suriya, Lijimol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, MS Bhaskar, Ilavarasu and Kumaravel to name a few.

The film has been officially selected for screening in the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival in Goa, which will be held later this month. Jai Bhim had a direct release on Amazon Prime Video. The film is bankrolled by 2D Production.
