It looks like Suriya's Jai Bhim is going places. The latest we hear is that the TJ Gnanavel directorial is all set to be screened at The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), which will be held from next month (August 12 to 20) . The others films in the list are Paraasakthi (directed by Sivaganesh), Road to Kuthriyar and Perianayaki among others. Taapsee’s Dobaaraa will be opening film of the festival. The celebrities at the film festival will include Tamanaah, who will be judging a dance competition, Samantha, Kabir Khan, Shefali Shah, Abhishek Bachchan and Kapil Dev to name a few.

In the meantime, we hear that Jai Bhim has also also become the official selection for Tiantan Awards at the 12th Beijing Festival. The film's makers made the announcement on their social media page, "Official selection for the Tiantan Awards at the 12th Beijing International Film Festival - #JaiBhim 🔥@Suriya_offl #Jyotika @rajsekarpandian @primevideoin @prakashraaj @RSeanRoldan @srkathiir @KKadhirr_artdir @philoedit @rajisha_vijayan #Manikandan @jose_lijomol (sic)."

Jai Bhim is a legal drama that features Suriya, Lijimol Jose, Manikandan, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh to name a few. The film revolves around the police bias faced by the marginalised communities and the lives of Rasakannu and Sengeni, a couple from the Irular tribe. The plot is inspired by a real-life case fought by advocate Justice Chandru. The film released on OTT since it was released during the pandemic. Music is by Sean Roldon. Cinematography is by SR Kathir and editing is by Philomin Raj. The film was critically acclaimed by critics and audience alike.
