Dhanush fans were in for a surprise when the team of director Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller announced that there would be a surprise announcement about the film later today. And soon, they released a new poster of Dhanush from the film. In the poster, a sketch of Dhanush is seen against a red backdrop along with the wishes 'Happy Birthday, Dhanush'. The poster was released on the occasion of Dhanush's 39th birthday today.

Captain Miller is touted to be an adventurous action thriller set in the 1930s-40s. And it looks like Dhanush might be playing a power-packed character in the film as the latest poster and the title announcement video has Dhanush wielding a gun. In the title announcement video, he is also seen riding a two-wheeler with his face all masked up, and the video had piqued the curiosity among fans. The entire star cast is yet to be announced.

Music for the film is by GV Prakash, who is also working on Dhanush's yet another film, Vaathi. While Shreyaas Krishna has handled the cinematography, Nagooran has worked on the editing. T Ramalingam is in charge of the art direction, while Dhilip Subbarayan will choreograph the stunts. Madhan Karky has penned the dialogues. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Dhanush confirmed being part of Captain Miller last December. There were speculations about the actor teaming up with the Saani Kaayidham director and Dhanush officially confirmed the same with a tweet that read, "Yes. The speculations are true. I am that fortunate actor who bagged @ArunMatheswaran β€˜s next directorial. More details soon. Om Namashivaaya (sic)."

To which Arun Matheswaran replied that he was honoured to be part of the film. He wrote, "Thank you so much for the trust @dhanushkraja πŸ™πŸΎ I am humbled and truly honoured for your kind words.. I am the fortunate one here. Looking forward to this big journey !πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ (sic)." The film is bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films.
