The Varisu team today set the internet on fire after they dropped a bunch of pictures of Thalapathy Vijay from the film. Fans of the actor have been sharing the pictures ever since they were shared on social media and have been going gaga over the same. The makers captioned the picture, "THE BOSS RETURNS in style (sic)." While some pictures have the actor in solo, in the others, he is seen with the rest of the star cast and the director, Vamshi Paidipally.

Varisu has an ensemble star cast which comprises Rashmika Mandanna as the leading lady, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, Yogi Babu, Shaam, Sriman, Sangeetha, Ganesh Venkatram, and Samyuktha to name a few. The film also marks the return of two of the leading ladies of the '90s. According to a team picture that's doing the rounds, Varisu also has Meena and Sneha as part of the star cast. While Vijay and Sneha had worked together in Vaseegara (2003), Meena and Vijay though didn't share screen space in a film, danced together for the hit song, Sarakku Vechirukken in Shahjahan (2001).

Khushbu Sundar, too, recently confirmed that she has worked in Varisu. Sharing a picture from Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna from the set of Varisu, Khushbu wrote on her social media handle, "Extremely happy to be part of this family. ( Was waiting for the official news from the production before me saying anything about it. ) @actorvijay@directorvamshi#DilRaju #Varisu #Varisudu #Vijay66. (sic)" The film also marks the return of Shaam in a Vijay film. The last time they teamed up for a film was SJ Suryah's maiden venture Kushi (2001). Shaam appeared in an uncredited role in the film. It looks like the film has reunited Vijay with a number of his former stars. The film, which has music by Thaman, is slated to hit screens for Pongal.
