Tabu, on a high after splendid feedback to her performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, has many films up her sleeve including two Ajay Devgn starrers Bholaa, Drishyam 2 besides Vishal Bhardwaj's Netflix film Khufiya. The actress, who consistently maintains a low profile, was the showstopper for award-winning textiles designer Gaurang Shah's Amogham, focusing on traditions and culture unique to Telangana. She draped a traditional gharara with a short kurta and dupatta at the event held recently.

Over 26 models walked the ramp at the event vibrant Ikkats from Pochampally and Puttapaka, elegant gadwals, and lustrous fabrics from Narayanpet among other local fabrics. Gaurang Shah's new collection is an attempt to highlight the breadth and diversity offered by Telangana. The designer shared that he strives to explore the various textiles, crafts, food, music, dance, topography, and numerous dialects specific to Telangana’s rich history and culture.

Gaurang belives that the art he has curated, showcases the timeless body of work from Telangana and its creatives. “We recreated the clothing of the Nizam Era found in the Zenana styles of the Chowmallah Palace. My endeavour through these events in the State has enabled common people, with no relation to textiles, to learn to weave. Women have been encouraged to sit on a loom and learn the Jamdani technique.”

Department of Handlooms and Textiles had organised the event commemorating National Handlooms Day. Tabu, after a sabbatical from Telugu cinema, had played the on-screen mother to Allu Arjun in Ala Vaikunthapurramulo in 2020. Manisha Koirala is reprising her role in the film's Hindi remake Shehzada, headlined by Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon and directed by Rohit Dhawan.
