Telugu Indian Idol 2: SP Charan’s special gift to a contestant has an SPB connection

This week’s episodes on aha’s show, dedicated to SP Balasubrahmanyam, will have two special guests - SP Charan and Dasara star Nani

Telugu Indian Idol 2 is coming up with innovative strategies to hog the limelight every weekend. The show, hosted by Hemachandra, is entering into a crucial stage, with top 10 contestants competing for top honours. While Nandamuri Balakrishna, Baba Sehgal, Koti were among the special guests in the recent weekends, this week will have two major celebs making an appearance - singer, producer SP Charan and Dasara star Nani.

The top 10 contestants of Telugu Indian Idol 2 this weekend will pay a special tribute to late musician, actor, producer S P Balasubrahmanyam with hit songs like Swapna Venuvedo, Attho Athamma Kuthuro.. Nuvvu Naatho Em Annavo, to name a few. In addition, the budding singers will also render a few numbers from Nani’s films like Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu, Krishna Gadi Veera Prema Gadha too.

That’s not all, there’s a surprise element too. SP Charan, in a new promo unveiled by aha, said, “Wherever there is music, SP Balasubrahmanyam will live on. He used only a specific set of mics for his concerts across the globe. I plan to gift one of the mics to the best singer among the Top 10 today.” The promo promises a set of riveting performances by the contestants, who have an added motivation now.

S Thaman and SP Charan also engage in interesting conversations while they discuss the legacy of SPB. Both are long-time buddies who also share a common love for cricket. Interestingly. SP Charan is also hosting another music reality show Padutha Theeyaga, its 21st season, which is also nearing completion.

While Padutha Theeyaga’s judges are lyricist Chandrabose, singers Sunitha and Vijay Prakash, Telugu Indian Idol’s panel includes Geetha Madhuri, singer Karthik and composer S Thaman. The latest episodes of Telugu Indian Idol 2 will be out on aha this Friday and Saturday.
