Actor Radikaa Sarathkumar is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Tamil film Thaai Kizhavi. Billed to be a rural drama, it is all set to hit theatres on February 27. Thaai Kizhavi is backed by Sivakarthikeyan, and in a recently held pre-release event of the film, Radikaa expressed how Thaai Kizhavi is a film that is meant for someone like Rajinikanth.

Thaai Kizhavi is an upcoming Tamil film headlined by Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role. It follows the central character, a boisterous matriarch named Pavunthaayi whose greedy sons are after her to know where she has kept her valuables.

Speaking at the pre-release event, Radikaa Sarathkumar thanked Sivakarthikeyan who backed the project, and Sivakumar Murugesan who directed it. "When I said I won't do this film, he heard the script and convinced me to take it up. I saw the film a few days back, laughed and enjoyed it. But beyond that, I think it is a film that is supposed to have acted by Rajinikanth. But he won't don this getup. Hence, they converted it to a woman and made me act in it. That is how I look at it,” she added.

Thaai Kizhavi will first have a theatrical run for a month before premiering on OTT. The film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by JioHotstar and is expected to stream on the platform sometime in March last week. Subscribers of OTTplay Premium can also watch the film.
