Thaai Kizhavi, the Tamil film which hit theatres last Friday, and currently running in big screens, has been witnessing a good run so far, with the second day collections showing a great improvement from its debut earnings. The Radikaa Sarathkumar-starrer is a rural comedy drama and is backed by Sivakarthikeyan.

Thaai Kizhavi box office collection day 2: How much did the movie make?

Thaai Kizhavi is the latest theatrical offering from Tamil cinema, and thanks to its positive reviews and word of mouth, the film has been doing well at the box office. After a first day collection of Rs 2.65 crore, Thaai Kizhavi showed a significant growth and made Rs 4.65 crore, taking the total up to Rs 7.3 crore so far. Add in the overseas collection of Rs 1.1 crore, the total earnings as of now worldwide is Rs 9.7 crore.

Thaai Kizhavi takes a fabulous opening given the film relies completely on content, and performances by the cast led by Radikaa Sarathkumar. Given Sivakarthikeyan has also backed the project, Thaai Kizhavi is expected to capitalise the Sunday and the week to come, given no prominent releases are lined up.

Thaai Kizhavi is a rural comedy drama about a fiercely independent, extroverted, elderly and loud woman called Pavunthaayi who is lives by lending loans to the villagers. However, when she gets bed-ridden and unable to speak, her three sons who had once abandoned her, comes running after realising she has a treasure of jewels hidden somewhere. Blending in socially relevant themes, women independence and comedy, Thaai Kizhavi offers a comedy drama that is driven by performances and deft writing.
