Thaai Kizhavi, the 2026 Tamil film starring Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role, had a fantastic opening. But as the film crossed its first week run, the rural comedy drama faced major drop, with its Thursday collection recording the lowest for the film so far. Even as the film made Rs 31 crore so far, the Thursday earnings recorded Rs 1.27 crore, on the seventh day.

Thaai Kizhavi box office: What is the current status of Radikaa Sarathkumar film?

Thaai Kizhavi is a recently released Tamil film backed by Sivakarthikeyan and featuring Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role. After having a fabulous opening with glorious reviews, Thaai Kizhavi had a great first weekend at the box office, collecting over Rs 11 crore on Saturday and Sunday alone. However, ever since Monday, the film had been recording Rs 2 crore and odd, until the film saw its major drop on Thursday with only Rs 1.5 crore. Overall, Thaai Kizhavi recorded Rs 31.75 crore worldwide at the end of its first week of run. With no major releases scheduled in the coming days, Thaai Kizhavi can make a decent run at the box office for a few more days.

What is Thaai Kizhavi plot?

Thaai Kizhavi is about Pavunthaayi, a boisterous elderly woman who resides in a village and lives by lending loans. When the whole village wanted her dead, thanks to her extroverted and foul-mouthed nature, Pavunthaayi finally gets bed-ridden. Her three sons who wanted her to dead, does everything to save her after coming to know that there is a treasure of jewels that only their mother knows about. The rest of the film is about what happens to Pavunthaayi.

Thaai Kizhavi had opened to positive reception and glorious reviews. While Radikaa’s performance was appreciated, debutant filmmaker Sivakumar Murugesan was lauded for his writing and messaging of the film. Actors Singampuli, Bala Saravanan.
