Thalaivii: Kangana Ranaut starrer leaks online within hours of its theatrical release

Just after a few hours of the release of the much-awaited biopic Thalaivii the Kangana Ranaut starrer is making headlines for falling prey to piracy. If the latest reports are to be believed, the full movie has leaked online.

The A L Vijay directorial portrays the journey of popular South Indian actress-turned-politician Jayalalitha, who also served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The plot journeys from her career in cinema to her rise as a revolutionary politician, where Kangana essays the titular role.

The movie has just been released today in theatres, and unfortunately, the latest buzz reveals that the movie is available on the web for free download. The issue of piracy has been a matter of concern for several filmmakers and they have been battling it for a long time.

Due to the lockdown last year and the rise of OTT platforms, the piracy issues of films were limited to a minimum until now. Recently, the Salman Khan starrer Radhe faced the same issue and got leaked on Telegram and WhatsApp. The production company Zee Studios had filed an FIR on the issue and the actor himself had taken the news to his social media and warned his fans against engaging in piracy crimes.

Though the movie leak is being talked about by netizens already, Kangana or the team members have not reacted to it. The movie, which was shot in multiple languages simultaneously, is released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The movie has been receiving mixed reactions within hours of its premiere. The actress too has been receiving appreciation and criticism.
