Telugu Indian Idol 2 is one of the most watched shows in the Telugu digital space and the grand finale is streaming on aha this weekend. Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun is the chief guest for the finals. The show is hosted by playback singer Hemachandra while singers Geetha Madhuri, Karthik and composer S Thaman are the judges. The finalists of the show are Sruthi Nanduri, Lasya Priya, Karthikeya, Soujanya Bhagavathula and Jayaram.

Besides grooming the contestants for the bigger stage, the judges have gone beyond the show to offer them opportunities in the film industry. S Thaman has already recorded a song with the finalist Soujanya Bhagavathula for one of his films and has gotten another 14-year-old singer Ayyan Pranathi to croon for Sreeleela in Ram Pothineni’s next with Boyapati Sreenu.

Offering another surprise in the first episode of the finale held this weekend, the composer confirmed that he’ll be joining forces with Telugu Indian Idol 2 contestant Sruthi Nanduri for his US concert tour titled Ala Amerikapurramuloo that’ll commence later this month. She’ll sing along with Thaman for his New Jersey concert on June 28.

“I’m going to her city this month on the 28th and we’ll be performing together on the stage. We’ll sing on the same stage and I’m so excited to perform along with her. I am looking forward to it. Your mother must bring her dondakaya kura for me, else I’ll cut down two songs from your playlist (on a lighter note). You performed very well today (finale),” S Thaman stated.

Sruthi Nanduri is a doctor by qualification and hails from the same family as Nanduri Venkata Subba Rao, popular for his yenki paatalu in Telugu. She has taken active interest in singing since childhood and hopes to strike a balance between medicine and music in her career.
