The horror-comedy started with a big bang, collecting Rs 24 crore on its opening day, and now smoothly climbing higher each day, building high hopes for its first Sunday. Interestingly, the horror-comedy has surpassed Varun Dhawan's Bhediya's lifetime collection within five days of its release, which made Rs 69 crore from India, and Rs 94.91 crore worldwide.

The movie minted Rs 24 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 18.6 crore on second day, later Rs 13 crore on third day, and on fourth day it saw a little drop with Rs 10 crore collection.

Thamma had an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.96% on Saturday. While the occupancy for morning shows was at 9.92%, the afternoon shows again saw a significant jump to 21.81%, and the evening shows registered 27.43% occupancy. Even the night shows saw good growth with 32.67% occupancy at the end of the day. The multi-starrer is speculated to succeed at the box office with a good collection.

Things take a dark turn when Alok gets to know the bigger back story that these creatures' leader Yakshasan got consumed by bloodlust during India's partition and was imprisoned by his own people.

Now the story goes wild as Tadaka saved Alok after his death, Yakshasan gets freed. Alok was resurrected with a divine blessing, becoming a new, more powerful leader as the new Thamma of the Betaals. The movie ends by setting up a crossover with the other flicks in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, including a confrontation with Varun Dhawan's werewolf character from Bhediya.
